A calm, structured environment where children can settle and grow
Class sizes are small, the environment is calm and staff understand how to meet the needs of children who struggle in busy or challenging mainstream settings. This helps pupils settle quickly, rebuild trust and start to enjoy learning again.
Our Primary Alternative Provision gives younger pupils the stability, reassurance and positive relationships they need to feel safe and ready to learn again. Many children arrive overwhelmed or anxious, so we focus on gentle routines, predictable days and warm, consistent support.

Learning in Primary AP feels purposeful but never overwhelming. We focus on core skills, curiosity and confidence-building, creating opportunities for children to experience success and reconnect with learning in a positive way.
Each day combines structured teaching with gentle encouragement, emotional support and opportunities for children to understand their feelings and behaviours. They develop stronger self-regulation, better concentration and a growing belief in themselves.

Supporting children to understand their emotions and make positive choices
Many younger pupils need help with emotional regulation or managing frustration, friendships or transitions. Our staff work closely with each child to understand their needs, build strategies that work for them and reinforce positive behaviours.
The aim is simple: to help children feel secure, understood and capable of responding to challenges more confidently. As they grow in confidence, improvements in behaviour, engagement and relationships naturally follow.
